Meet George Masters, aka Captain Marauder.
Full of fervor and good intentions, George Masters a transplant from Petersfield Manitoba and long time friend Gary McConnell former Royal City 3rd baseman and Jim Klassen Envirovac CEO decided on April 01, 2000 to form the Marauders Slow Pitch Club (MSPC). After considerable debate and effort looking for fellow cohorts and patriots in the softball field. We were delighted to discover that slow pitch icons Saulnier, Campbell, Stewart Yeo, Fraser & McMitchell were of appropriate age and if offered the right enticements, available to join the ranks of the MSPC staff. These fine slow pitch patriots introduced us to so many of our now loyal followers who are eager to further our cause in senior slow pitch by assisting wherever and whenever they are able!
The newly formed MSPC staff exhausted their creative capacities and painstakingly put in place the pieces needed for a sustainable power-house. They devised a new logo for the t-shirts and web site for the pleasure of other patriotic slow pitch players of the future.
The Marauders won the league in their first year and have not looked back.
The history continues from 2000 until the present the awards keep piling up as the Marauders continue to dominate in the senior slopitch class . They are now Provincial, Canadian and World champs look for them to continue as Gord Campbell {Director of Player Personnel } for the Marauders and Rick Moore { Ass. Coach} continue their search for the best quality players available to join the Marauders. Currently Glady Masters and Mo Mitchell act as scorekeepers and help with the stats.
The Marauders are a tournament team and have played in many tournaments over the years, They are well known throughout Western Canada and Northwestern USA.
