Nationals & Worlds Updates:
Enviro-Vac Marauder 50s Get Around In 06
Team Enviro-Vac Marauder 50s are on the move in 2006 traveling a long road to Phoenix. The season began on a good note last weekend with an upset win over last years AAA World Champions (rated major this year) the Oregon Masters in the SSWC Qualifier in Seattle on April 24th.
1)SSUSA Western Nationals, S. Seattle, July 22/23/24- The team has decided that instead of playing the league play-offs in Abby they would rather play the SSUSA Western Nationals in S. Seattle. The Nationals in Seattle are the weekend prior to the SPN Nationals in Kelowna so a good warm up. Who’s going?...just starting a list: Balmer, Buchanan, Brissette, Crook, Currie, Docksteader, Franklin, Freund, Gass, Klassen, Mireau, Seedhouse, White & how about Pimlott?…if you are on the list and should not be let me know and vice versa …PLEASE.

Some of the 2005 EV Marauders – 2005 SSUSA Qualifier Champs
Good news for Enviro-Vac Marauder 50s for 2006 as
SSUSA has announced Seattle will host the 2006 Senior World Championships.
3) Huntsman Worlds, St. George, Utah October 10-14/05.
Marauders have won AA and AAA in this tournament in the past and have been playing major the last couple of years however, it’s been tough at the major level. Do we have the horses this year? Who's going? Balmer, Brissette, Currie, Docksteader, Freund, Gass, Klassen, Mireau, Seedhouse, White...it looks like I will have to pick up two players. WHO WANTS TO GO? We stay in Mesquite Nevada at the Eureka Casino Hotel. Dave Docksteader has a number of rooms blocked off for players so talk to Doc about a room (approx 40.00/night. Mesquite is about 1 ½ hours from Las Vegas and ½ hour from St. George softball parks. Click here for Full Story full story for information on hotels, airlines etc.
4) This years SSUSA Worlds Championships in Phoenix October 20/21/22/23 Considered by many to be the premier senior softball tournament in the world promises to be one of the best with over 300 teams expected to participate from USA, Canada, Japan & Germany. Click here for Full Story for information on hotels, airlines etc.
Depending on how we do in St. George we could be done by Thursday, October 13th or still playing on Friday (hopefully it’s the latter). Phoenix is about a 5 hour drive from St. George so many of us are planning on spending the weekend in Las Vegas then taking a leisurely drive to Phoenix. Some players are planning on flying back and forth between Vegas as airlines can be cheap if you book far enough in advance. I will be looking into the cost of flying to Vegas renting a car for two weeks, driving to Phoenix and dropping it there then flying out from Phoenix. It may be cheaper to drive back to Vegas…will let you know on rates. Who’s going? Balmer, Brissette, Buchanan, Crook, Currie, Franklin, Freund, Gass, Klassen, Mireau, Seedhouse, Seminuk, White,
Managers meetings take place in Phoenix on Wednesday, October 19th and play starts Thursday and goes through Sunday October 23rd.
5) SSUSA Winter Worlds, Lost Wages Nevada November 18/19/20. If you can stay out of the casinos it’s a fairly inexpensive weekend. The roster for this one is starting to fill up with only two or three spots left. Who’s going? Balmer, Brissette, Docksteader, Dyke, Freund, Klassen, Lindemann, Mireau, Seedhouse, White. Want to go…let me know! Full Story full story for information on hotels, airlines etc.
